Across the state, several seats in the Tennessee Senate were secured by party nominees with no contender in November. Notable highlights include Katrina Robinson, who defeated incumbent Democrat Reginald Tate in the District 33 Senate race, current state Rep. Raumesh Akbari’s win for Senate District 29, and Rep. Brenda Gilmore’s victory in Senate District 19. In other state Senate news, outgoing Sen. Lee Harris, a Memphis attorney, was elected mayor of Shelby County.
