Stephen Wallace, public defender for the 2nd judicial district, has announced his retirement, effective Nov. 1. The governor's office is now seeking applicants to replace him until the next election in August 2020. To apply, one must be a licensed attorney in Tennessee, a resident of the state for five years and of the district for at least one year.
