The TBA Young Lawyers Division is offering funding to attend an intensive training from October 1-4 dealing with Immigration Court Bond Hearings at the Louisiana Immigration Detention Facility. This training is being offered in collaboration with the Southern Poverty Law Center and the AILA Midsouth Chapter.

The goal of this training is to equip young lawyers across the state of Tennessee with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle immigration court bond hearings in the event of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) raid like the recent raid at the Southern Provision Meat Packaging Facility near Morristown, TN.

Hotel and travel expenses will be funded up to $500 per person. This event will be held in conjunction with the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Conference, which will be held in New Orleans from October 4-6. Participants are encouraged, but not required, to attend the conference after their training. Spaces are limited. To view the application, click here. Applications are due by September 5 at 5 p.m. EST. Please send applications to Brittany Thomas Faith .
