Two East Tennessee cities have received 2018 COPS School Violence Prevention Program Grants, U.S. Attorney J. Douglas Overbey announced on Thursday. The Morristown Citizen Tribune reports that Newport received $20,419 and Knoxville received $240,345. The grants will help the cities expand and update training programs to better protect students, teachers, faculty and first responders.
