The bust of Confederate general and Ku Klux Klan leader Nathan Bedford Forrest will likely remain in the Tennessee Capitol for the foreseeable future, as Gov.-elect Bill Lee has stated he opposes removing it, The Tennessean reports. The statue was first placed in the Capitol in 1978, and there have been calls for its removal for years, including a bill last year that would have moved it to the Tennessee State Museum.
