Next Wednesday, Cyntoia Brown will be released on parole after serving 15 years of a life sentence for first degree murder. She was a juvenile at the time of the killing, which is what caused then-Gov. Bill Haslam to review her case and ultimately grant her request for clemency. The Tennessean interviews Haslam about the decision, his regrets about not doing the same for others, and about his visit with Brown in May. She told him, "I won't let you down." After the visit he said he felt even better about his decision.
