Judge Gets Update on Police Consent Decree - Articles

U.S. District Judge Jon McCalla ruled nearly a year ago that the Memphis Police Department (MPD) violated several areas of a 1978 consent decree meant to deter police surveillance on activists, and last week the court-appointed monitoring team testified at an update meeting. The Memphis Flyer talked to Paul Garner, organizing director for Mid-South Peace & Justice Center who had been surveilled by the MPD, about the findings, which he described as "a mixed bag" and "questionable."
