TBA Law Blog

The annual CLE of the Construction Law section was a great success.  Thank you to David Taylor for serving again as the program facilitator and thank you to the speakers for your thoughtful and informative presentations.  We particularly enjoyed the Section Luncheon, which gave the section members a chance to get to know each other better.

With summer approaching, I encourage you to look for opportunities to serve in your respective communities.  As practitioners who focus on construction law, you may be interested in swinging a hammer yourself.  For those of you who are so inclined, please check with your local Habitat for Humanity office on any projects that you could help build.  This is usually a one-day commitment and is a great way to get out of the office.  We have provided the contact information in the article below for Habitat for Humanity offices in your area.

We are bringing the TBA year to a close and will soon be changing the guard in the Construction Law section.  Jerry Martin of Knoxville will be taking over as Chair of this Section.  I have enjoyed serving as the Chair and continue to welcome any ideas or suggestions that you have so that the Executive Committee can serve you better and add value to your membership.  If you know others who should join this Section, please encourage them to do so.

Best,
Mary Beth Hagan
