Legal aid programs will have to cut nearly 750 employees, including 350 attorneys, this year because of funding cuts, the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) reports, The reduction represents an 8 percent reduction in staffing from last year. A survey completed by all but one of the nation's local legal aid programs found that 29 percent expect to cut back on services to victims of domestic violence and those dealing with foreclosure issues, while 16 percent expect to close offices before the end of the year.
