Responding to a request from Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey, the Tennessee Bar Association's Board of Governors met today to discuss his initiative for redistricting the state's judicial districts. Ramsey has said that the lines need to be redrawn to deal with imbalances in workload and resources. He has asked the TBA and other legal groups to "develop and propose a logical judicial redistricting plan to improve and promote efficiency, effectiveness and access." The board today agreed to look at the issue and will meet again March 2 to analyze factors being used to change district lines, and consider alternative redistricting proposals.
