Chattanooga Bar Association YLD – The Chattanooga YLD will hold its 3rd Quarter Coffee Talk with young lawyers and judges Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the jury assembly room of the Hamilton County Courthouse. This particular session will feature judges with the Criminal Court. The event is free to CBA YLD members and $20 for non-members. The group also plans to host a fundraiser for CASA later this fall. Knoxville Bar Association Barristers – The Barristers will hold its next meeting Oct. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Bistro by the Bijou at 807 South Gay Street. Other upcoming activities include the following:

Annual Coat Drive – The annual Barristers Coat Drive will take place Oct. 6-20. Receptacles will be placed at office buildings across town. Law School Mentoring – The Law School Mentor Committee is seeking volunteer attorneys to participate in a panel at the University of Tennessee College of Law on Oct. 7. The presentation will begin at noon and focus on the topic “How to Network to Generate Business.” Contact Caitlyn Elam, (865) 541-5259 to volunteer.

Firms for Food – The Hunger and Poverty Relief Committee is still seeking firms to volunteer one Saturday a month to help sort and package food at Second Harvest. New Admittees Reception – The Barristers will host a welcome reception for new bar admittees on Nov. 3. Watch for more details.

Veterans’ Pro Bono Clinic – The YLD continues to hold a monthly Veterans’ Pro Bono Clinic at the Memphis VA. Clinics take place on the fourth Tuesday of the month from noon to 2 p.m. The next event will be Oct 28. For more information about the clinic contact MBA YLD President Jake Dickerson.

Golf Tournament – The MBA YLD will host its Annual Golf Tournament Oct. 10 at the Links at Galloway in East Memphis. The registration fee of $80 per person / $300 per team includes cart, greens fees, range balls, soft drinks, beer and prizes. Nashville Bar Association YLD – The NBA YLD is a cosponsor of the Casa Azafran Legal Clinic, which provides free legal services to individuals in predominantly Hispanic areas of Nashville. Upper Cumberland Young Lawyers Association – In October, the group will hold a meet and greet with newly elected judges in the 13th Judicial District and a swearing in ceremony for new attorneys that have passed the bar. It also will support the Cumberland County Bar Association’s Pro Bono Clinic on Oct. 18. Finally, the group will partner with the TBA YLD on Nov. 1 to hold a Wills for Heroes clinic at the First United Methodist Church in Cookeville. Williamson County Bar Association YLD –  The group’s next networking event will take place Oct. 2 at 5:15 p.m. at Drake’s in Cool Springs.
