Judge Russell Parkes of the 22nd Judicial District Circuit Court was sworn in Friday at a public ceremony at the Maury County Courthouse, the Columbia Daily Herald reports. Parkes, 52, was appointed last month to fill the seat left vacant by Judge Robert Holloway, who was appointed to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. Parkes had been sworn in privately the day before Thanksgiving so he could begin hearing cases.
