Shelby County Chancellor Oscar “Bo” Carr was found dead of a gunshot wound Monday night (April 6) in his car in the parking lot of the Memphis Country Club. Police believe he took his own life, the Memphis Daily News reports. Carr was appointed to the 30th Judicial District post this past October by Gov. Bill Haslam. Before the appointment, he handled civil litigation and mediation at the Memphis law firm of Glankler-Brown for nearly 40 years. In a statement released today, Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Lee remembers Carr as a highly respected member of the legal community, others in the Memphis legal community offered their reflections in a Commercial Appeal article.
