Funeral services for Sam J. Watridge, 71, were held today in Humboldt after he died on Friday (April 24). A graduate of the Nashville School of Law, Watridge worked as editor of the Humboldt Chronicle for several years and in various jobs at the state Department of Employment Security. He left government service in 1986 to return to West Tennessee and open a law practice in Humboldt. During his later years, he served as city attorney and city judge.
