Knoxville lawyer Wanda Sobieski will be honored with the Lizzie Crozier French Award at the 2015 East Tennessee Women’s Leadership Summit, scheduled for June 12. The award, named for the Knoxville-born educator and activist, recognizes Sobieski’s efforts to create a women’s suffrage statue on Market Square. On Thursday, Sobieski will speak on the importance of remembering the suffrage movement at 5:45 p.m. at The Avenue, 141 N. Martinwood Rd. Knoxnews has more.
