The former director of communication for the Church of God International was sentenced in a U.S. District courtroom in Chattanooga to 34 months in federal prison. Troy Scot Carter pleaded guilty to one count of interstate transportation of security taken by fraud. Carter will have to pay 50 percent of all he earns while incarcerated in attempt to repay $880,000 obtained by giving the church false invoices for services, the Cleveland Daily Banner reports.
