State House Democratic Caucus Chairman Mike Stewart, D-Nashville, requested an independent review of Tennessee’s corrections system by the National Institute of Corrections, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports. Stewart also called for the re-establishment of the legislature’s Corrections Oversight Committee.
