American Bar Association YLD – The ABA Law Student Division has launched a new podcast specifically for law students, covering issues from finals and graduation to the bar exam and finding a job. The program, called the ABA Law Student Podcast, is available through iTunes, the Legal Talk Network app, LegalTalkNetwork.com, Stitcher, iHeartRadio and Soundcloud. Listeners can follow the podcast and join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #LawStudentPodcast. Law students can join the ABA for free and then subscribe to the podcast at no charge. Blount County Bar Association YLD – The group typically meets for lunch on the third Tuesday of every month. For more information contact President Nick Black, (865) 238-0665.

Chattanooga Bar Association YLD – The Chattanooga YLD assisted with fundraising, contributing a large donation, and attended the local CASA chapter’s 30th Anniversary Celebration. The group is continuing to provide local high schools with the “So You’re 18” Booklets and presenting information to inform students of their rights and responsibilities on turning 18 years old. The group will have its final social of the year and its annual elections on Dec. 10 at the Walden Club. At that meeting, Corrin Fulton with Gearhiser Peters Elliott & Cannon will take over as president. Knoxville Bar Association Barristers – The Knoxville Barristers just completed their Bundle Up, Knoxville Coat Drive during which the group donated 60 coats to the needy. The Barristers also have adopted 21 angels from the Salvation Army that will receive Christmas gifts from the group. On Dec. 9, the group will hold its holiday party and elections at the Bistro by the Bijou. Rachel Hurt with Arnett Draper & Hagood will take office as president. Members will vote on electing attorney Samantha Parris as vice president, Mitchell Panter with London & Amburn as secretary/treasurer and Heather Ferguson with Egerton McAfee Armistead & Davis and Sarah J. Watson as board members at large.

Finally, the Barristers will support the KBA’s last Open Service Project on Dec. 8. Lawyers will participate in the WIVK Radiothon for the Dream Connection. Volunteers are needed to answer phones and take pledges at the radio station at 4711 Old Kingston Pike. Contact Farrell Levy to sign up.

Maury County Bar Association YLD – The Maury County YLD continues to hold social gatherings on the first Tuesday of the month. A representative of the group also will be going to the courthouse to meet with each one of the clerks and take pictures to create a directory that will be provided to new lawyers. Memphis Bar Association YLD – The MBA YLD held its Annual Meeting & Elections Nov. 12 at Central BBQ. During the event, Nicole Grida passed to gavel to new president Jonathan May with Lewis Thomason. Other leaders elected were Vice President/President-Elect Adam Johnson with Nahon Sahavorich & Trotz and board members Greg Allen, Law Office of Gregory D. Allen; Josh Baker and Jonathan Lindsey, Martin Tate Morrow & Marston; Natalie Bursi, Lewis Thomason; Sam Fargotstein, Ballin Ballin & Fishman; Julia Kavanagh and Mary Wu, Baker Donelson; Shayla Purifoy, Memphis Area Legal Services; and William Terrell, Glassman Wyatt Tuttle & Cox. Williamson County Bar Association YLD – The WCBA YLD will be joining the full bar association at Puckett’s Boathouse in Franklin for a Christmas party with a tacky sweater theme. Tickets are $30, which includes appetizers, dinner, dessert, entertainment, drink tickets and a photo booth. The group also is seeking volunteers to help with upcoming legal clinics in partnership with Legal Aid Society and Mercy Community Healthcare. Clinic dates are Dec. 3, Jan. 7 and Feb. 4.
