Gov. Bill Haslam today questioned the need for either a special legislative session or a lawsuit against the federal government over the transgender student restroom issue, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports. Republican leaders in both the House and Senate have been pushing for the state to take some action on the issue. "Our direction to our schools and school systems is going to be to continue doing what you're doing,” Haslam said.  “I honestly believe that this is something that's better handled at the local school level.”
