Madison County lawyer Jack Colin Morris received a public censure from the Tennessee Supreme Court on July 7. The court took the action after finding that Morris improperly issued a trust account check to opposing counsel prior to receiving sufficient funds from his client. The action caused an overdraft of his attorney trust account. Morris entered a conditional guilty plea acknowledging that his actions violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.15 and 8.4(a).
