With charges of a “rigged” election system in the news, Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett is speaking out to assure Tennesseans about the integrity of the state's election process. “I hesitate to call somebody irresponsible, but anything that causes people to have less confidence in being able to go vote, I frown upon, regardless of what party that comes from,” Hargett said during a news conference Monday. He held the event to tout the state’s bipartisan process to prevent hacking and systemic fraud, the Nashville Post reports. In related news, a report from the Associated Press finds that voter fraud is actually fairly rare. News Channel 9 has the story.
