Following the election of Donald Trump as the nation's president-elect, the ACLU is calling on him to reverse course on campaign promises the group deems unconstitutional, including removing 11 million undocumented immigrants, banning Muslims from entering the country, punishing women who have abortions, reauthorizing waterboarding and loosening the nation’s libel laws. In a statement today, the group said Trump will have to deal with “the full firepower of the ACLU at every step" if he does not abandon these policies, the ABA Journal reports. The Tennessee chapter also released a statement today in which Executive Director Hedy Weinberg said the group “will continue to stand strong as we build a movement in pursuit of justice and equality, freedom and fairness.”
