U.S. Rep. Jim Cooper and Rep. Steve Cohen have joined about 200 members of Congress signing on as plaintiffs in a lawsuit that argues President Donald Trump’s foreign business dealings put him in violation of the Emoluments Clause, Humphrey on the Hill reports. “The American people should have total confidence that the President is serving their interest, not his own financial enrichment,” said Cohen in a release. Cooper added, “Since President Trump shows no sign of changing, Congress must ask the courts to enforce the Constitution he has sworn to uphold.”
