After U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn announced her planned bid for U.S. Senate, state Sen. Mark Green said that he will run for Congress to replace her, The Tennessean reports. The news is a reversal from Green’s previous decision not to seek any higher office this cycle. Green was previously under consideration to become President Donald Trump’s Army secretary, but withdrew after comments he made about Muslims and LGBT individuals surfaced.
