The Nashville Metro Council might appoint a special committee with subpoena power to investigate travel and overtime expenses related to Mayor Megan Barry and her former head of security, The Tennessean reports. Councilwoman Tanaka Vercher said she plans to file a resolution that would appoint a committee of three to seven council members to oversee the investigation. This comes as attorneys for Barry sent a letter to the media threatening legal action should they publish rumors that Barry engaged in other affairs with metro employees.
