Christopher Drone Bassett was sentenced to life in prison today for the first-degree murder of Knoxville high school student Zaevion Dobson in 2015, Knoxnews reports. Co-defendants Richard Gregory Williams III and Kipling Colbert Jr., both found guilty of facilitation, were given total sentences of more than 100 years each. Criminal Court Judge Steve Sword called the murder a “planned” act of vengeance and said that Williams and Colbert were “equally culpable” in the crime.
