Rick Gates, the business partner of President Trump’s former campaign chairman Pail Manafort, pleaded guilty today of two charges, NPR reports. The first is conspiracy against the United States, and the second is making false statements. Gates will begin cooperating with prosecutors investigating the Trump campaign and Russian interference into the 2016 presidential election. He could get between four and six years in prison, but prosecutors said they would consider Gates’ cooperation and could ask the court for leniency.
