Bills in the legislature that would transfer judgeships between counties are moving forward, with some likely amendments, The Tennessean reports. House Majority Leader Glen Casada, R-Franklin, said a portion of a bill that would have transferred a judgeship from the 20th judicial district, which includes Davidson County, to the 21st, which includes Williamson, will likely be amended to remove that transfer. However, a provision to add another judge to Rutherford County and remove one from Shelby County would remain. The Tennessee Bar Association has voiced its opposition to the measure.
