A lawyer from Nashville is raising eyebrows amid the investigation into Russian interference with the U.S. elections, The Tennessean reports. G. Kline Preston is the attorney credited for introducing his client Alexander Torshin, a Russian politician with close ties to President Vladimir Putin, to former National Rifle Association President David Keene. Torshin is under scrutiny for illegally channeling Russian money to the NRA in 2016. Preston also counts U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn as a client and “long time” family friend, and has donated money to her bid for U.S. Senate.
