The University of Tennessee has fired its first female chancellor after just more than a year on the job, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports. Beverly Davenport will be demoted from the UT Knoxville post and will serve as a faculty member in the College of Communication and Information, UT President Joe DiPietro announced Wednesday afternoon. “Issues arose that have progressed and, while I am disappointed to have to make this change, it is necessary and in the best interests of the University," DiPietro said.
