A new wave of “spoofing” scams has been attacking lawyers and law firms, using fake email names to trick recipients. Emails seeming to be from a friend or colleague solicit goods, gift cards, money transfers or encourage the recipient to follow a link. One example involved a “friend” claiming he had been mugged and needs funds to pay for a hotel. Be aware and read more at the Louisiana State Bar website.
