West Virginia senators today voted 32-1 to allow impeached Supreme Court Justice Beth Walker to remain in office, the Bristol Herald Courier reports. A two-thirds majority was required to remove Walker, whose 12-year term expires in 2028. She had been accused of abusing her authority and failing to control office expenses. Also today, jury selection began in federal court in Charleston in the trial of suspended Supreme Court Justice Allen Loughry, who faces a 25-count indictment that includes allegations that he repeatedly lied about using his office for personal gain. He is also set to face an impeachment trial as are justices Margaret Workman and Robin Davis.
