The wife of a former Knoxville-area high school football coach is claiming that the 14-year-old boy she engaged in a sexual relationship with was a “willing participant,” and therefore the lawsuit filed against her and her husband should be tossed out, Knoxnews reports. Kelsey McCarter’s attorney claims that because the South-Doyle High football player derived a “personal benefit” from the incidents he was not sexually abused, and therefore isn’t entitled to try to collect damages.
