Franklin lawyer Doug Fisher died Sunday. He was 91. A 1952 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School, Fisher co-founded the Nashville law firm of Howell & Fisher PLLC in 1964 after serving as an aide to governors Frank G. Clement Sr. and Buford Ellington. He was an inaugural member of the Board of Trust of the Nashville School of Law, serving from 1993 to 2015. He taught civil procedure at NSL for seven years, and was honored in 1997 with the Distinguished Faculty Award. Judge Frank G. Clement Jr. described Fisher as a “statesman of the bar.” Learn more from NSL. The Celebration of Life for Fisher will be held on April 16 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in downtown Franklin at 3 p.m. Visitation will begin at noon at the church's Otey Hall.
