The May Tennessee Bar Journal has several columns that you are not going to want to miss, including Marlene Eskind Moses and Ben Russ's "Family Matters." This month they write about exclusive jurisdiction of Juvenile Court. A bill that was in the legislature at the time of the column's writing was later signed into law by Gov. Lee, altering "the jurisdiction of child custody in a small but significant way." It is Public Chapter 167 and was effective April 24. "The ultimate take away for the family law practitioner here is the ... change does clarify the existing situation and allows for a reduction in duplicative litigation."
