Kirby Wallace, who pleaded guilty in a double murder last year in Stewart and Montgomery counties, did that in exchange for a life in prison sentence without the possibility of parole. The death penalty was not sought, and as NewsChannel5 reports, several things were considered in making that decision. One was that the husband of one of the victims, who survived the attack during the crime, said he could not endure a lengthy death penalty trial.
