Report: Lee Privately Asked Rep. Byrd Not to Run Again

While Gov. Bill Lee has not called for Rep. David Byrd to resign from office, he asked the embattled lawmaker in a private phone call last month not to seek reelection, the Tennessean reports. Byrd has another year and a half left on his current term.
