Teen Driver Could Face Prosecution as Adult for Death of Police Officer

Prosecutors want to try as an adult Jayona Brown, a 17-year-old who caused a fatal car crash that resulted in the death of a Nashville police officer, the Nashville Scene reports. Brown crashed into Officer John Anderson’s vehicle on July 4 after running a flashing red light. She is being held in juvenile detention and faces charges of vehicular homicide by recklessness, felony evading arrest, aggravated assault by recklessness, driving on a suspended license and juvenile curfew violation.
