American Bar Association YLD – The ABA YLD Spring Conference will take place in St. Louis May 5-7. 
 
Recognize your affiliate’s service to the bar and to the public in Awards of Achievement. Applications are due June 15. 
 
Take a look at the ABA YLD’s Past Initiatives for ideas on implementing a project for your affiliate.

Blount County Bar Association YLD – The group typically meets for lunch on the third Tuesday of every month.  For more information contact President Nick Black, (865) 238-0665.
 
Chattanooga Bar Association YLD – The Chattanooga Bar Association YLD joined up with the Chattanooga Bar Association for its Winter Social on Feb. 24. The group’s next social happy hour will be March 15th  at Tremont Tavern.  The group’s mock trial competition is currently underway.  The YLD is plans to have quarterly Coffee Talks with local judges throughout this upcoming year. Jackson Madison County Bar Association YLD – (no response, used prior info) The Jackson-Madison County YLD will be working with the Hands Up pre-school this year as well as several other organizations. Knoxville Bar Association Barristers –  The Barristers have a number of events and activities planned for the upcoming year:
  
The Law School Mentor Committee recently conducted mock interviews at the UT College Law. The Barristers Hunger and Poverty Relief Committee have been selling “Teddygram” e-cards to purchase teddy bears to donate to the Knoxville Police Department, whose officers provide the bears to children in crisis.  Volunteers are also needed for a Solo/Small Firm Panel at UT Law in March. Contact Caitlyn Elam if you’re interested in participating. The Barristers will volunteer for Mobile Meals (the Knoxville chapter of Meals on Wheels) delivering meals to seniors the first Tuesday of every month. 
 
The Hunger & Poverty Relief Committee thanks everyone who participated in this year’s Teddygram Drive!  Please be on the lookout for information to come regarding the Committee’s Professional Clothing Drive, which will take place April 6 – 18.  For more information on how to get involved with upcoming projects, please contact Courtney Houpt at choupt@taylorknightlaw.com or Kourtney Hennard at khennard@londonamburn.com.
 
Caitlyn Elam and Stanton Fears, co-chairs of the Barrister’s Law School Mentor Committee would like to thank all of the wonderful lawyers who volunteered to conduct Mock Interviews at UT Law. Through its volunteers, the committee successfully conducted 42 mock interviews for 1L students to assist them in preparing for upcoming interviews for summer clerkships.  Caitlyn and Stanton would like to thank the following attorneys who volunteered their time:

Maury County Bar Association YLD – The Maury County YLD continues to hold social gatherings on the first Tuesday of the month. The group is working on finishing up a Clerks Directory for the benefit of local young lawyers. For more information contact President Travis Jones, (931) 797-2344.
 
Memphis Bar Association YLD –  The Memphis Bar Association YLD will be hosting a panel discussion on the Steven Avery documentary “Making a Murderer” on March 10 at 1 p.m.  This year’s “YLD Grizz Night” is Wednesday, March 30. Join the YLD as they cheer on the Memphis Grizzles take on the Denver Nuggets – the pregame happy hour will be at Twelve Bar on Beale Street. To purchase tickets click here.
