    The ABA Resource Committee provides a connection to the American Bar Association. 

  • Access to Justice

    Access to Justice Committee

    The Access to Justice Committee develops and implements policy and initiatives to assist lawyers, the organized bar, law schools, legal services organizations & pro bono programs in providing meaningful access to the justice system for poor, vulnerable & underserved individuals.

  • Attorney Well Being

    Attorney Well Being Committee

    This Committee works to enhance the understanding of issues associated with attorney well being through education and other awareness activities. The Committee also explores programs, accumulates data and provides analysis to enhance attorney well being.

  • CLE

    CLE Committee

    The CLE Committee works to provide quality continuing legal education services to Tennessee attorneys.

  • Committee on Racial and Ethnic Diversity

    This committee works to increase racial and ethnic diversity in the legal profession, engaging in activities that promote the profession in the pipeline, promoting recruitment of diverse professionals, and developing diverse individuals within the profession.

  • Committee on the Judiciary

    This committee was formed in 2013.

  • Ethics and Professional Responsibility

    This Committee works to update and revise the Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct that were patterned after the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct. The current revisions to the rules went into effect on January 1, 2011.

  • Governmental Affairs Committee

    The TBA Governmental Affairs Committee is involved in one of the core missions of the association, advocacy for the profession and for our system of justice.

  • Judicial Campaign Code of Conduct Committee

    As a public service, the Tennessee Bar Association works to help assure that judicial elections are conducted in a manner that will maintain confidence in our judiciary.

  • Leadership Law

    Leadership Law

    This Committee works with the annually selected leadership class members to equip them with the vision, knowledge and skills necessary to serve as leaders in the profession and in the community as a whole.

  • Long Range Planning

    This committee reviews current long range plans for the Tennessee Bar Association and considers changes and updates.

  • Mentoring

    Mentoring Committee

    This committee is analyzing the need for mentoring programs in Tennessee and developing a mentoring program for the TBA.

  • Public Education Committee

    The focus of the Public Education Committee is to develop an array of educational outreach programs for students and adults designed to improve public awareness of the law and our legal system and enhance the public perception of the profession.

  • Special Committee on the Future Practice of Law

    This Special Committee has been formed to research the evolving legal marketplace and how new technology and innovations are shaping the practice of law.

  • Tennessee Bar Journal Editorial Board

    The Tennessee Bar Journal editorial board reviews submissions and helps shape the editorial policy of the bi-monthly magazine.

  • Unauthorized Practice of Law

    This committee reviews UPL issues presented by attorneys, the courts or local bars. It has developed a sample protocol for use in handling complaints on individuals or businesses endangering Tennessee consumers through the unauthorized practice of law.
