The 109th General Assembly is winding down and expected to adjourn sine die before the end of April after the passage of Governor Haslam’s budget. Even though the legislative session is ending do not forget to make your voice heard to "Increase the Rate for Indigent Representation”! The  Indigent Representation Task Force will be coming to a town near you this summer and fall. Please stay tuned for the meeting locations. The TBA is working to have public hearings to have your voice heard at the task force. These will be announced as soon as dates and locations are set.
Want to meet your legislator or get more engaged in the legislative process? This summer and fall legislators will be campaigning for office and if you would like to participate in making indigent defense compensation a campaign issue and to write a letter to the editor please email Brenda Gadd. She is managing the TBA’s campaign to get the word out and build support.
