Montgomery Bell Academy emerged as the winner of the 2016 State High School Mock Trial Competition in Nashville.

(NASHVILLE, March 19, 2016) — MBA defeated the Chattanooga Southeast Tennessee Home Education Association team in the championship round. MBA will go on to represent Tennessee at the National High School Mock Trial Competition May 12-14 in Boise, Idaho.

The two-day state competition, sponsored by the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, involved 16 teams and nearly 200 volunteers, including lawyers, law students and paralegals. In addition, sitting judges in the state presided over the trial rounds at the Metro Davidson County Courthouse in downtown Nashville. Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Lee presided over the championship match Saturday evening.

Additionally, Home Life Academy claimed the team Sportsmanship Award during their first-ever appearance in the competition. 

Congratulations to Mock Trial Committee Chair Kristen Corn, Vice Chair Rob Sands and the YLD Mock Trial Committee on another successful year hosting the tournament.
