Second Annual Access to Justice Initiative Underway

The YLD's public service project for 2016, the Access to Justice Legal Clinic Initiative, is currently in progress, having begun in Cookeville on April 25. The project builds on the experience of last year's "Access to Justice Week."

Young lawyers are once again planning and participating in legal clinics across the state. The project is an initiative of YLD President Rachel Moses, an attorney with the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee & the Cumberlands, who has made pro bono service a key component of her platform for the year. Young lawyers are encouraged to volunteer for clinics in their area. Clinics will continue in various locations statewide until May 21.

This event takes a massive effort of YLD leaders and volunteers, working together to serve their community. Each clinic location is designed to aid an underserved area, and will require many volunteers.
