American Bar Association YLD – The next ABA event will be the group’s ABA Midyear Meeting in Miami on February 5-7, 2017. More information on that meeting can be found here. The ABA House of Delegates has released the executive summaries of the resolutions which will be considered at the Midyear Meeting in February. Chattanooga Bar Association YLD – The Chattanooga Bar Association YLD will continue to have monthly social happy hours and quarterly Coffee Talks with local judges throughout the year.
 
The Chattanooga YLD will be hosting its annual meeting on January 11, 2016 at the Chattanooga Country Club where the members will vote and appoint two remaining board positions. Additionally, the following individuals have been elected to serve on the Board for this upcoming year: Brittany T.  Faith - President; Drew Reynolds – Vice President/President Elect; Kirby Yost – Secretary/Treasurer; Justin Faith, Lauren Sherrell, Rob Carden, Stephanie Rogers, Emma Flynn – Board Members; and Corrin Fulton – Immediate Past President.

Knoxville Bar Association Barristers – The Barristers Volunteer Breakfast is a recurring event on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6:15 a.m. The Barristers Volunteer Breakfast Committee always needs volunteers to serve food or sponsor. Sign up here. The Barristers recently hosted a Welcome Reception for New Bar Admittees.
 
The Barristers Annual Meeting, Elections and Holiday Party was held on Wednesday, December 7th. The following were elected: Vice President - Mitchell Panter; Secretary/Treasurer - Mikel Towe; Members-at-Large - Daniel Ellis and Sarah Watson. Samantha Parris became Barristers President at the end of the meeting. The 2016 Presidents Award was presented to Mikel and Elizabeth Towe for their outstanding efforts as Chairs of the Membership Committee.

Maury County Bar Association YLD – The Maury County YLD continues to hold social gatherings on the first Tuesday of the month. For more information contact President Thomas Hutto, (931) 388-2822.
 
Memphis Bar Association YLD –  The MBA YLD will be putting together the High School Mock Trial Competition from February 13 – February 22, 2017.  Rounds begin at 6:00 p.m. each night.  Attorneys are needed to act as judges/jurors on most nights, so please contact Julia Kavanagh or Sam Fargotstein if you’d like to volunteer. The students do an amazing job as attorneys and witnesses, so it’s well worth the time.
