President Donald Trump has officially nominated West Tennessee native Stephen Vaden as general counsel for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Humphrey on the Hill reports. Vaden joins the long list of Jones Day attorneys to join the administration. He previously served as a law clerk to former U.S. District Court Judge Hardy Mays of Memphis and 6th U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Julia Gibbons of Memphis. Vaden held the job in an acting role prior to his nomination.
