Walmart and Kroger are requesting that customers do not bring visible guns into stores, but both companies stopped short of establishing a policy banning open carry of firearms, explains the Tennessean. Under Tennessee law, individuals and businesses may prohibit the possession of weapons on their property, or limit possession to concealed firearms by permit holders. In either case, clear signage must be posted. In its statement, Kroger also indicated that the company recognizes "the growing chorus of Americans who are no longer comfortable with the status quo and who are advocating for concrete and common sense gun reforms," according to CNN
