September 15th marks the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month, so today we thought we would get a head start on recognizing the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the legal profession. Today, we shine the spotlight on an organization close to the TBA YLD, the Tennessee Immigrant & Refugee Rights Coalition (TIRRC).

TIRRC is a statewide, immigrant and refugee-led collaboration whose mission is to empower immigrants and refugees throughout Tennessee to develop a unified voice, defend their rights, and create an atmosphere in which they are recognized as positive contributors to the state.

For the past two years, the TBA YLD and young lawyers across the state have partnered with TIRRC to help shorten the gap to access legal services for immigrant and refugee families in Tennessee. Together, we have and will continue to positively impact and change the lives of the Hispanic and Latino American community in Tennessee.

If you want to join the movement for immigrant and refugee rights in Tennessee, look no further than the TBA YLD, and your local bar association for volunteer opportunities.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as we celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month.
