The Williamson County Public Building Authority heard a plan yesterday to spend $280 million for extensive renovations and new buildings to expand the county courts and sheriff's office in downtown Franklin. New courtrooms are planned and the county is looking at connecting the historic courthouse to the county courthouse by above ground passageway, the Tennessean reports. The move is being driven by growth in the county and increasing crime. A separate $260 million plan would also bring updates to the Williamson County jail, juvenile court and Alternative Learning Center.
