Gov. Bill Lee today announced he has appointed Jackson attorney Matthew Wilson to the Court of Criminal Appeals, Western Section. Jackson is an assistant U.S. attorney in the Western District of Tennessee with nearly 20 years of legal experience at both the state and federal levels. He earned his law degree from Florida State University College of Law and was a 2016 member of the TBA Leadership Law (TBALL) program. “Matt’s extensive background in criminal prosecution has prepared him well to serve Tennesseans on the Court of Criminal Appeals,” Lee said. “I am confident he will bring valuable expertise to the bench, and I appreciate his service.” Wilson was nominated to fill a vacancy created by the death of Judge John Everette Williams.
