The Tennessee Access to Justice Commission used 2022 to bring stakeholders back together and get out into the community.

The Tennessee Faith & Justice Alliance hosted its first in-person Faith & Justice Summit since 2019 in April as part of Help4TNMonth. The ATJ Commission partnered with the Governor’s Office of Reentry to host three expungement legal clinics in each grand division during Help4TNMonth.

The Tennessee Justice Bus, a mobile legal office that brings technology and access to rural and underserved communities, kicked off in June. Seventy-five lawyers volunteered at 20 different events and provided over 370 hours or pro bono services.

The ATJ Commission will continue its partnership with the Governor’s Office of Reentry and increase its expungement and reentry work in 2023. The TN Justice Bus will be deployed across the state to bring much-needed legal help to some of our most vulnerable citizens. New resources and tools to better equip pro bono volunteers are being developed.
